Presento con piacere l'identità visiva per il trentesimo Med Film Festival. Un sentito ringraziamento va a Ginella Vocca, direttrice del festival, e a tutti i collaboratori che da trent'anni danno vita a questo evento così importante per il cinema d'autore. Condivido qui qualche riflessione sul progetto. Il linguaggio visivo si mantiene in continuità con i lavori già sviluppati insieme, seguendo un'impronta surrealista, costruita su associazioni tra il macro e il micro. Mi sono quindi concentrato sul Mar Mediterraneo, sulle persone e sulle storie che lo animano.
Questa volta, però, abbiamo scelto di rappresentare il mare come una mappa vista dallo spazio: una prospettiva che non rende invisibili le persone, ma anzi le fa apparire ingigantite, come se interagissero col fondale marino attraverso tuffi e giochi ispirati al mare stesso. L'elemento grafico che accompagna queste figure è un grande e sottile numero 30, che funge da soglia tra due dimensioni: quella del Mediterraneo e quella delle storie dei suoi personaggi. È un portale che ha già accolto numerose vicende e che continuerà a lasciar passare le storie future.

I am pleased to present the visual identity for the 30th Med Film Festival. My heartfelt thanks go to Ginella Vocca, the festival director, and to all the collaborators who, for thirty years, have brought this important event for auteur cinema to life. Here, I’d like to share a few thoughts on the project. The visual language maintains continuity with the work we’ve developed together, following a surrealist approach, based on associations between the macro and the micro. I have therefore focused on the Mediterranean Sea, its people, and the stories that bring it to life.
This time, however, we chose to represent the sea as a map viewed from space—a perspective that does not render people invisible but rather makes them appear larger, as if they are interacting with the seabed through dives and games inspired by the sea itself. The graphic element accompanying these figures is a large, thin number 30, acting as a threshold between two dimensions: that of the Mediterranean and that of the stories of its characters. It is a portal that has already welcomed numerous tales and will continue to allow future stories to pass through.
